         An elephant is the largest and strongest of all animals. It is a strange looking animal with its thick legs, huge sides and backs, large hanging ears, a small tail, little eyes, long white tusks and above all it has a long nose, the trunk.
The trunk is the elephant's peculiar feature, and it has various uses. The elephant draws up water by its trunk and can squirt it all over its body like a shower bath. It can also lift leaves and puts them, into its mouth. In fact the trunk serves the elephant as a long arm and hand. An elephant looks very clumsy and heavy and yet it can move very quickly.
The elephant is very intelligent animal. Its intelligence combined with its great strength makes it a very useful servant to man and it can be trained to serve in various ways such as carry heavy loads, hunt for tigers and even fight.

         Once upon a time there was a poor widow who had an only son named Jack. They were so poor that they didn't have anything except a cow. When the cow had grown too old, his mother sent Jack to the market to sell it. On the way to the market, Jack met a butcher who had some beautiful beans in his hand. The butcher told the boy that the beans were of great value and persuaded the silly fad to sell the cow for the beans.Jack brought them happily. When he told his mother about this, his mother became so angry that she threw the beans out of the window.
         When Jack woke up in the morning, he felt the sun shining into a part of his room but all the rest was quite dark and shady.So he jumped to the window. What did he see?             My mother is a fifty-year old widow. She and my father were very happy together – and I know she has been very lonely since he died.
            I am very fond of her but sometimes her behavior is unreasonable. She is still quite attractive , even to men who are much younger than she is. Recently she has been seeing a lot with a thirty-six-year-old man whose wife died a few years ago in a car crash. I was very worried about this, but said nothing about it until yesterday.
